Parameters To Determine The Stocks To Invest In – Are They The Best Dividend Paying Stocks?

Interest on bank deposits or shares of stocks – which will yield higher ROI (Return On Investment)? The low interest rate pegged by banks on deposits prompts people to explore other avenues of investments. Those who are market players invest on shares of stocks and many would bet their money on best dividend paying stocks. If you are new in this venture, would you invest without knowing the ins and outs of stock market? Or would you just invest also on best dividend paying stocks?

The stock market is indeed a good business – that is if you know how to play with market trends. There are two types of investors in the stock market – those who buy stocks and sell when the price appreciates and there are those who invest because of the dividends paid on the stocks. These are the two ways by which you can profit from this venture. Many became millionaires because of the stock market but many also turned penniless because of their poor foresight in the stock market game.

If you are contemplating on investing in the stock market, it is best to know first the basics. What stocks are worth buying and why?

You are investing on stocks rather than depositing in the bank because the earnings are higher. We call the income – dividends. When you buy shares of stocks of a company, you become a part owner of the business and as such, you share in the income of the company. Dividends are the payments made by a business (corporation) to its shareholders, this is the income.

Criteria for choosing the share of stocks to invest in –

Dividend yield – Expressed in percentage, this is calculated by dividing the amount of dividend by the current market price of the share of stock. As an example, if the dividend is $5.00 and the current price of the share of stock is $50.00, the yield is 10%. If the price of stock drops to $40.00, the yield is 12.5%; when it goes up to $60.00, the yield is 8.33%. So – the dividend yield is inversely proportional to price.

Size and capitalization – This could be another basis of choice of the stocks to invest in. Some investors will buy stocks of big companies, maybe because of stability and capability to survive economic down trends. The capitalization is also an indicator of the liquidity of the company.

Profitability – This is a measure of the efficiency of the company – how well it uses its assets to produce income. The gauge to measure profitability is Return on Equity which is a quotient of net income divided by stockholders equity.

Low debt – This parameter is measured by debt to equity ratio. This is computed by dividing total debt to stockholders equity. Market players would not invest on companies with zero ratio because this is an indication of the company’s poor credit standing. A too high ratio will also shy away stock investors because high debt is tantamount to losses of the company.

Smart money – Try to look into the big investors in a company, it is good to buy shares of stocks with institutional ownership. These institutions know better on the standing of the company so you can follow suit.

Price action – This indicates the volatility of the share of stocks. If the price per share is on the downward trend, then it is not a good indication. It means that very few buy the stocks or many investors are disposing their shares.

Best dividend paying stocks are desirable investments but as an investor, this should not be the only parameter in the choice. Any new stock market investor has first to know his goal – is he the buy and sell type of investor or is he the investor for dividend payments.

How To Invest In Highest Dividend Stocks

You are thinking of building an investment portfolio. You need to find the highest dividend stocks. But have you been a market player before? If yes, then just find the right share of stocks for you – just that easy. However, if you are just beginning to venture in this investment you have to know everything about the highest dividend stocks.

Dividend pay-out is usually the prime consideration in the choice of shares of stocks. A true stock market player is always on the guard for changes in prices of stocks – especially those stocks he has invested in. You have invested in one type of stock – why not the other? The one you choose has the highest dividend stocks.

Find the highest dividend stocks –

If you are still in search for the stocks you want to purchase, you might want to look into the company’s history. Since your investment is for income generation, your motive will be on the dividends being paid – how much, how frequent? You might want to buy shares of stocks of company that have been paying dividend consistently over the years, the rate of which never goes down.

Most of the highest dividend stocks offer high dividend yield. What is dividend yield? It is a ratio between the declared dividend for a share of stock divided by the price of the share of stock. Companies with the highest dividend stocks belong to any of the following industries: real estate, financial institutions, energy firms, utilizes and natural resources.

Highest dividend stocks are not as volatile as the market it belongs to. During “bear” months in the stock market, the highest dividend stocks are most likely to retain its price. In trying to find the highest dividend stocks, you need to analyze the risk and financial health of the company. Usually highest dividend stocks are less risky. They can surely pay-out the dividends. “Bear” and “bull” months also affect the financial position of the firm. “Bear” month is characterized by a drop in prices of the shares of stocks. Highest dividend stocks can out-play the lower dividend stocks and the zero dividend stocks. These high yield stocks can survive the downtrend in the market and in events of economic distress, they can easily recover. Thus, the dividend pay-out can be continuous.

It is in this type of stocks (continuous dividend payment) that many gainers invest. They are purchasing the so called “income stocks”. Investing in “income stocks” is beneficial to the investor, where he receives his dividends as frequently as the company distributes part of its income. This is how many players get rich through the stock market – they invest in income stocks and they buy those shares that are highest dividend stocks. In cases where it is difficult to decide on which stock to invest in, the typical consumer has to refer to the stock’s dividend yield.

The stock market industry can thrive if only many understand and know the simple ways of stock market behavior. For dividend seekers, there is but a simple definite start – find the highest dividend stocks. This is even made simpler with the internet, where data are accessible and brokerage firms are aggressive in recruiting clientele and market players.

Guidelines – Investing On High Yield Stocks

Investing is difficult – even if you have the money – your choice is crucial! If purchase of shares of stocks is your investment option, you have to know everything about high yield stocks. Investing in stocks is not easy – there are so many factors affecting the stock market and the shares of stocks. High yield stocks are commonly the first gauge of the desirability of stock but how do you find this quality?

What is high yield stock?

High yield stock is a kind of stock with a dividend yield that is higher than the average of any chosen benchmark. The US Treasury Note is usually the benchmark where the dividend yield is compared. When the dividend yield of a stock is higher than the rate of the US Treasury Note, then that stock is said to be high yield stock. Stock analysts differ in opinion whether a rate is high or low yield; there is no standard for judgment.

How can you find high yield stocks?

The first thing to be done by a prospective investor is to do research on the stocks. This is done by using a stock screener or brokerage website. Sometimes, in order to gain access to the screener, you have to open an account with the brokerage. The opening is followed by an initial investment. For this step, you can have different criteria such as: the share price of stock, the dividend payment and the kind of industry. The industry sector can be financials, conglomerates, utilities, chemicals or raw materials.

Once the choice is made, do more research. You have to investigate the performance of the company for the past few days or months. Know the trend in the price of the company’s stock – whether it is lower than its usual price. Diminishing price does not necessarily mean the company is in the downward trend. It may mean that the stock is just “on sale”. It happens that lower priced stocks are higher yield.

Then, look into the dividend yield of your chosen stocks. Dividend yield is dividing the amount of dividend paid by the prevailing or price. The best dividend yield rate is from 5% to 10%. A dividend yield of 15% is usually indicative of company trouble.

Set your goal – on the number of shares you are to acquire. The more shares you have, the more dividends you receive. Well, the number of shares is dependent on your available funds. But it is good to diversify the shares you are to invest in – maybe 2 or 3 companies.

There are two types of stock investors. Do not be the type of “buy and sell” investor who is contented with short term earnings. Be the other type of investor who is after the dividend payments. Then, if you are accumulating funds, invest on more shares. You can buy additional shares of your existing stocks or you invest on another stock that has been performing well the last few days. It is important that you monitor the trend in the price of your stocks.

You have been given a primer on high yield stocks. With this knowledge, you can start with a small investment and keep an eye on the stock market. One day, you will be one of the gainers and will have made a fat bank account with the earnings!

Tips On The Best Dividend Stocks Investment – Get Rich!

Money – what a great issue! He who says he is not concerned with money is a great hypocrite. Of course there is always “want” – for good things for yourself and your love ones. Even life or health is affected by drive from money. Money is your means to dream attainment. To have more of the much coveted “green bucks” or “euros” you keep investing to have a multiplier effect on your hard-earned income. Business is not the only worthwhile investment. Many got rich with company stocks. So find out the best dividend stocks and start your new venture. Have more dollars falling into your hands. Search for best dividend stocks for a fat bank account.

What is a stock

Stocks are securities, evidences of ownership in business entities – particularly corporations. So when you purchase stocks, you are considered part owner of the company. But – you are a simple portfolio investor. You do not care about ownership. All you want is to profit out of your investment.

How you earn from stock investment

Corporations are mandated to declare dividend out of their earnings. The dividends are divided among the number of stocks. Your share on the dividends thus declared is your earning. This is one way of earning from stock investment. Some companies declare dividend in for of stock ownership (certificates are evidences). With another stock ownership, your investment is increased. Some investors on high rated companies would not sell their stocks. They wait for stock dividend declaration.

The other most common purpose is to “buy and sell” stocks. There are stocks which are called “blue chips”. These are most desired. Blue chip stock is a stock of a high earning, low liabilities business. This kind of stock is very volatile and moves well in the stock market. So you can earn when you buy at a low price then sell once the price goes up.

Where to buy and sell your stocks

A stock exchange house functions as center for buying and selling of corporate stocks, for a certain fee. The Stock Exchange has agents to underwrite your investments. If you have a trusted stock underwriter, you can be assured of earnings. Why? Your agent can give you tips on stocks that will go up and will also advise you when to buy and sell particular stocks.

However, you can make your own decisions. The rise and fall of stock markets are published in wide circulation newspapers. Even in the internet, the behavior of the stock market can be monitored.

Best Dividend Stocks

If you are a long term investor, you go for the best dividend stocks. Since you are not going to sell your stocks in accordance with market prices, your concern is to find the amount of dividends declared. Also you investigate on what kind of divided – stock dividend or cash? Whichever way, you earn from your investment. Best dividend stocks are good for long-term investors.

Choosing the best dividend stocks

In choosing the kind of stocks, be vigilant. Find companies that have growth potential. You are on the safe side of investments when you choose a company that declares high dividends. Also, choose the stocks of companies that have weathered the global crisis. All of the data regarding this can be obtained through the net and the newspaper. And – if you have been consistently monitoring market trends, your intuition will dictate the best dividend stock to invest in. As an a plus factor – consult your agent.

Although the stock market is not really a main source of income, many investors had profited from stock trading. It can be a fast or slower pace of collecting your income. The “buy and sell” option is faster income yielding. Anybody can engage in this venture and the more you do it, the more educated on stock market trends you become. So – start now with the best stock dividend stocks. Invest wisely and you will soon have that fat bank account.
